Choose the right file
PNG or JPG
Use a free image download to share a draft with relatives or review the layout before ordering a print. Free images are limited to 1200 pixels on their longest side, so check the resolution before printing them large.
Choose a Keepsake PDF when you want a print-ready page at a selected paper size. Open the file at actual size and check that names, portraits, and dates are easy to read.
SVG
Choose a Keepsake SVG when you or a print shop need scalable artwork. Keep a copy of the original file so it can be resized without relying on a small screenshot.
Plan the page before you print
Distanty offers A4, A3, and A2 paper sizes plus poster formats, with automatic, portrait, and landscape orientation. A compact tree often works on a smaller sheet; a wide tree with many branches usually needs a larger page. Preview the chosen size and orientation before downloading.
Add the people you know first. Short names and clear relationships are easier to read at a distance. Photos are optional; use images with enough detail for the size you plan to print. If a branch grows too dense, try a different design or a larger page rather than shrinking every name.
The poster PDF uses RGB color and has no bleed or crop marks. Ask your print shop about its color and trimming requirements before ordering a large print.

Which download should I send to a print shop?
Ask the shop which file and paper size it prefers. PDF is convenient for a prepared page; SVG is useful when the artwork needs to be scaled. Check the final proof for legibility before printing.
Can I update my family tree later?
Yes. You can edit the tree and make a new download. A guest tree starts in the browser on the device where it was created; keep a backup or sign in if you need to restore it elsewhere.
